Best Meaty Cheesy Lasagna

Ingredients

  • Lasagna pasta
  • pasta sauce
  • ground turkey beef, pork or chicken
  • oil
  • onions diced
  • garlic minced
  • green onions scallions
  • cilantro chopped
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • paprika
  • montreal cheese seasoning
  • chicken bullion powder or bullion cube
  • roasted garlic and herb seasoning
  • adobo
  • red chili flakes optional
  • bell peppers diced
  • tomatoes diced
  • oregano dried
  • parsley dried
  • sugar granulated or light brown
  • Cheeses
  • mozzarella
  • parmesan
  • Italian cheese blend
  • Mexican cheese blend
  • Ricotta Mixture
  • ricotta
  • eggs
  • spinach fresh
  • parmesan cheese
  • mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Start off with boiling water in a large pot. This will be used to boil our lasagna noodles later.
  • Drizzle a small amount of oil into a large skillet. Add onions, minced garlic, green onions, and saute until the onions become translucent.
  • Add meat to the onion mixture, break the meat apart, and combine.
  • Using a separate pan fry sausages and set aside until later.
  • Allow the meat to brown before adding seasonings. If using beef, pork, or any type of meat that produces excessive oil. Drain the oil.
  • Season the meat with salt, black pepper, adobo, onion powder, garlic powder, roasted garlic and herb, chicken bullion, paprika, red chili flakes and combine.
  • Add your favorite brand of pasta sauce and add a generous amount to coat the meat.
  • Add cilantro, parsley, and dried oregano, sugar and combine.
  • Add fried sausages to the mixture, along with bell peppers and tomatoes, and incorporate.
  • Lower flame, cover with a lid and simmer for about 10 minutes
  • Using the boiling water add lasagna and cook according to the instructions on the box. However, do not over or undercook the lasagna noodles.
  • Preheat oven to 350F
  • Let's work on our ricotta mixture.
  • Using a bowl add ricotta, eggs, and incorporate. Add spinach, parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese and combine.
  • Using a pan or casserole dish layer with the meat sauce.
  • Add lasagna noodles, and spread ricotta mixture on top.
  • Add meat and top with a combination of cheeses.
  • Repeat the layering process, top with meat and more cheese.
  • Add a baking sheet under the pan or casserole dish to prevent spillage.
  • Cover with aluminum foil using the technique I showed you in the attached video below.
  • Remove the aluminum foil during the last 5-10 minutes and allow the cheese to brown.
  • Wait for about 30-40 minutes before cutting into the lasagna.
  • Serve with garlic bread.
