Combining room temperature butter before adding sugar
Slowly adding sugar and combining sugar and butter
Adding one egg at a time and combining
Adding extract vanilla or lemon extract
Adding lemon zest and pinch of salt
Adding sifted flour 1 cup at a time (Don't over mix)
Adding 7Up and combining
Adding cake batter to non stick baking pan
Baking at 325 F for 1 hour and 15 minutes
Allowing cake to cool before icing
Icing Instructions
Adding butter to microwave for 5 minutes.
Adding melted butter to powdered sugar along with vanilla extract and water and combining.
Placing in microwave for about 5 seconds to warm icing.
Drizzle onto cake
