Southern Sweet Cornbread

This Southern Sweet cornbread recipe is everything baked in one pan. It's delicious, moist, buttery and has the perfect hint of sweetness.

Ingredients

  • Ingredients needed
  • 1/2 cup corn meal
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Whisk eggs and set aside.
  • In a large bowl combine flour, corn meal, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  • Taking whisked eggs, add oil, melted butter, honey, and milk. Combine ingredients.
  • Taking wet ingredients add to dry ingredients. Combine all ingredients using a whisk.
  • Add contents to nonstick baking pan.
  • Place in oven, bake at 350°F for 35 minutes.
  • Using a toothpick, Insert in the center of the cornbread, if toothpick comes out clean, remove cornbread and place on secure surface.
  • Allow cornbread to cool for about five minutes before slicing cornbread.
