Ingredients
- 6-7 Sweet Potatoes medium sized
- 8 Tbsp Butter Salted Butter
- 1 Cup Sugar Granulated
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar Light
- 1/2 Tbsp Cinnamon Ground
- 1/2 Tsp Nutmeg Ground
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract Pure
- 1 Tbsp Ginger Grated
Instructions
- Taking cleaned potatoes, peeling and slicing placing in a casserole or baking pan and setting aside.
- Using a skillet add butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and combine.
- Adding ground cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract and grated ginger and combining.
- After all ingredients are combined, continue stirring mixture until you get a slow simmer and sauce thickens slightly.
- Pouring mixture onto yams / potatoes and covering with aluminum foil.
- Placing into preheated oven and allowing to bake for about 30 minutes on each side. For a total of about 1 hour or until desired tenderness is achieved.
