Korean BBQ Chicken Recipe. A sauce made of soy sauce, brown sugar, bbq sauce, rice vinegar, Korean chili paste, and ginger, creating a sweet-savory and flavorful chicken.
For this recipe, I decided to use chicken quarters. Did I forget to mention Korean BBQ sauce goes well with white or dark meat? A recipe that’s easy to bake or grill.
Start by rubbing oil on chicken pieces. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste. Place seasoned chicken in oven or grill. See Directions Below For Grilling And Baking Instructions.
Using a saucepan add bbq sauce, chili paste, grated ginger soy sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Combine all ingredients. Cook over medium heat. Stir sauce til thickened for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and set aside.
Korean BBQ Chicken Recipe
Oven Directions: Preheat oven to 365F. Place chicken skin side up. Using a baking pan or pan with a cooling rack. Coat chicken pieces with oil. Add a dash of salt and ground black pepper. Make sure to season under the skin as well. Bake chicken until internal temp reaches 165F. Brush chicken skin side up with delicious bbq sauce. Bake for additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to set on chicken. Allowing the flavorful BBQ sauce to get nice and sticky. Leaving your fingertips filled with delicious sweet and savory Korean BBQ Sauce. Giving you a good reason to lick your fingers without regret. Lol.
Grilling Directions: Preheat grill to medium-high (about 450°F). Place chicken, skin side up, on oiled grill. Grill, covered for 10 minutes. Turn chicken over. Grill chicken covered til thermometer inserted in the thickest part of chicken reads 165°F. Brush skin side of chicken with 1/3 cup of the barbecue sauce mixture. Grill skin-side down, uncovered, for about 2 minutes. Remove from grill, and let stand 10 minutes. Serve with favorite side or dish.

Ingredients
- 4 piece Chicken Quarters
- 1 cup BBQ Sauce
- 1 tbsp Ginger Grated
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce Low sodium
- 1 tbsp Brown Sugar Light
- 1/2 – 1 tbsp Chili Paste Gochujuang
- 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
- Oil To Coat Chicken
- Salt To Taste
- Ground Black Pepper To Taste
Instructions
- Taking cleaned chicken and patting dry.
- Coat chicken on both sides with oil. This will give the chicken skin a nice crispy effect.
- Add salt and ground black pepper to both sides.
- Place chicken on rack and bake or grill until internal temp reaches 165F
- Using a saucepan combine bbq sauce, brown sugar, ginger, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and chili paste.
- Stir until sauce reduces and thickens.
- Add bbq sauce to chicken and place back into oven or grill for about 5 minutes.
