As most of us know measuring fluid oz 8 ounces equals 1 cup. However, when measuring semi-hard cheeses ex: Swiss, Cheddar, and Mozzarella 4 ounces of cheese is equivalent to 1 cup.
Tip buy a 32 oz block of cheese and split in half and use 16 oz or buy (2) 8 oz packs and shred.
